Thousands gathered in Tehran today for the funeral of Ali Shamkhani, the Secretary of Iran’s National Defense Council and a pivotal advisor to the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Shamkhani was killed in a massive US-'Israeli' airstrike campaign, codenamed Operation Roaring Lion and Operation Epic Fury, which targeted Iran’s top military and political leadership on February 28. His burial at the Imamzadeh Saleh shrine follows a two-week period of intense mourning and regional escalation.
