  • Trump announced that Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller will take over as White House chief of staff starting Monday, Nov. 9, 2026
  • Susie Wiles, who served as Trump’s initial chief of staff in his second administration, will transition to lead the broader Trump political operation

US President Donald Trump announced Friday that Stephen Miller, his current deputy chief of staff for policy, will assume the role of White House chief of staff beginning Monday, Nov. 9, 2026.

Miller will succeed Susie Wiles, who has served as Trump’s White House chief of staff and will transition into leading the administration's political apparatus.

In a statement shared Friday on Truth Social, Trump commended both aides for their work: "I am pleased to announce that Mr. Stephen Miller, the current Deputy Chief of Staff of the Trump Administration, and one of my most trusted advisors, will become the Chief of Staff starting Monday, November 9, 2026."

Adding that Susie Wiles will be moving over to the Trump Political Operation.

Miller has been a central fixture of Trump’s political orbit since the 2016 campaign, serving as a senior advisor during Trump's first term and emerging as the principal architect of the administration’s strict border enforcement, immigration limits, and executive policy strategies.

Wiles, a veteran Florida political strategist widely credited with running Trump's successful 2024 presidential campaign, made history upon Trump's return to the presidency as the first woman to serve as White House chief of staff.

Her shift over to the Trump political operation follows the 2026 midterm elections and comes amid a broader series of personnel adjustments across the administration.
