French artist Joanie Lemercier projected the word “OUT” onto the Trump International Hotel in Las Vegas overnight as Democrats made significant gains in the US midterm elections.
Lemercier shared a photograph of the projection on Instagram, explaining that the display was carried out using a powerful laser projector from a rented room across from the hotel.
In the photo's caption, Lemercier said the team had arranged to rent a room overlooking the building several weeks earlier to carry out the projection from approximately 650 feet away.
“Today is Election Day for the US midterms, an election that will have profound, far-reaching consequences for international politics,” the artist wrote.
The projection's message coincided with a major political setback for President Donald Trump, as Democrats secured control of Congress in the midterm elections.
