  • Baghaei accused European nations and the wider international community of "inaction"
  • The ministry highlighted the worsening conditions facing displaced families in Gaza

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei criticized international institutions and Western governments over their response to the ongoing aggression in the Middle East, cautioning against what he termed the "normalization of crimes and massacres" in Palestine.

Speaking during a press conference in Tehran, Baghaei stated that West Asia continues to experience rapid developments centered around the situation in Palestine. He stated that 'Israeli' military operations remain the primary source of regional instability, citing continued strikes across the Gaza Strip and southern Lebanon that have resulted in ongoing civilian casualties.

"Developments in West Asia continue at a rapid pace, with the focal point remaining occupied Palestine," Baghaei told reporters, stating that recent escalations followed 'Israeli' domestic political developments and resulted in further loss of life.

Addressing the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the spokesperson highlighted the vulnerabilities facing displaced populations ahead of the winter season.

He noted that humanitarian restrictions have prevented essential supplies, including basic shelter units and winterized equipment, from reaching affected civilians.

Baghaei expressed regret over what he described as widespread apathy among European governments and international bodies, warning that reducing human casualties to numerical figures undermines global accountability.

"We are witnessing an extremely dangerous phenomenon: the normalization of crimes and slaughter," Baghaei said, adding that "every life lost represents the destruction of an entire human existence" rather than just a statistic.
