  • The operational maneuvers are being conducted as a designated component of the broader national security drill, Exercise Watan 202
  • Travelers and airport visitors may observe designated training activity on the ground alongside coordinated aerial movements

Qatar Airways issued an advisory stating that field procedures simulating emergency response scenarios are being executed at Hamad International Airport (HIA) on Monday, Nov. 2, under the national security initiative "Exercise Watan 2026."

Qatar Airways informed the public that ground-level operational drills and training scenarios are being enacted at specific locations across the airport complex, accompanied by relevant aerial training activities.

The airline stated that the scheduled exercises are designed to test operational preparedness and inter-agency coordination during contingency scenarios.

Qatar Airways stated that the simulation will not impact flight schedules, passenger itineraries, or day-to-day operations at the international hub. All regular departure and arrival services, along with passenger amenities across the terminal, are continuing as scheduled.

Exercise Watan is an annual multi-agency drill conducted across Qatar to assess the readiness of civil, military, and service authorities to respond to complex emergency situations and test joint operational protocols across critical infrastructure.
