A Yemenia Airways aircraft was struck by hail during a flight to Queen Alia International Airport in Jordan but landed safely, the airline’s official spokesperson, Hatem Al-Shaabi, said.

Al-Shaabi said the aircraft would be sent for maintenance at Queen Alia International Airport. Passengers scheduled to travel from Amman to Aden International Airport will be transferred to another aircraft, with departure times remaining unchanged according to their existing bookings.

Al-Shaabi said adverse weather conditions pose challenges for airlines worldwide, requiring high levels of preparedness and strict adherence to approved safety procedures to protect passengers and flight crews.

He also highlighted the airline’s experienced pilots and specialized technical teams, saying the company’s management continues to invest in training and professional development to improve staff readiness.

Al-Shaabi stressed that the safety of passengers, flight crews and aircraft remains the airline’s top priority, with safety and quality standards underpinning its operations.
