Video footage surfaced online documenting a heated confrontation outside Shinjuku Station in Tokyo, on Monday, where a self-identified 'Israeli' soldier provoked Japanese pro-Palestinian activist Yusuke Furusawa by showing him military photographs taken in the Gaza Strip.

According to Furusawa, who regularly campaigns for Palestinian rights across the Japanese capital, the confrontation began when the man approached him holding up a smartphone. The screen displayed a photograph showing the individual brandishing a machine gun amidst destroyed buildings and rubble in Gaza.
