American pro-Palestinian activist Guy Christensen stated that US Customs and Border Protection officers detained and interrogated him for an hour and a half upon his arrival at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) following a trip to China.

The 20-year-old commentator -known online for his advocacy within the Palestinian rights and left-wing organizing movements- released a preparatory video holding his passport before entering customs.

In that footage, Christensen urged supporters and allies to speak out and raise awareness if he were held at the border, explaining that he had been in China to observe its system and had anticipated potential interference due to his political organizing.

In a follow-up video recorded shortly after his release inside the airport terminal, Christensen confirmed that border agents pulled him aside for questioning. He claimed that authorities informed him the stop was a targeted detention tied to his public activism and advocacy.

"They want to make other people scared to speak out for others," Christensen stated, arguing that government scrutiny is increasingly directed at domestic activists, including citizens with public platforms.

Christensen noted that the border encounter occurred following widespread bans and the deletion of his primary accounts on social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram, which he described as efforts to suppress his reach and leave him vulnerable.

He extended gratitude to activist circles and organizers who sounded the alarm during his detention, indicating he plans to provide a more detailed breakdown of the interrogation once settled.
