  • Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear activities and criticised Washington for negotiating with Tehran while attacking Iran and its nuclear facilities.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has called on Muslim countries to strengthen regional cooperation, security and development, condemning what he described as ‘Israeli’ aggression and US-backed efforts to divide the Middle East.

Speaking at a meeting in Tehran with Saudi Defence Minister Khalid bin Salman, Pakistan’s army chief Asim Munir and Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin, Pezeshkian said Iran was ready to support greater unity among Muslim nations.

He condemned ‘Israeli’ attacks on Gaza, Lebanon, Iran and other parts of the region, calling for stronger cooperation among Muslim countries to address regional challenges.

Pezeshkian also reiterated that Iran was not seeking nuclear weapons but maintained its right to pursue peaceful nuclear activities under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

He criticised what he described as contradictory US policies, accusing Washington of pursuing negotiations with Tehran while simultaneously attacking Iran and its nuclear facilities.
