  • The Saudi-led coalition says it carried out a targeted military operation against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen on Monday.
  • Coalition forces reportedly destroyed five tunnels used to store ballistic missiles, four missile launchers and a missile depot.
  • The coalition says the operation aimed to disrupt Houthi supply lines and prevent further attacks on Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

The Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government said Monday it had carried out a targeted military operation against Houthi-controlled areas in Yemen, claiming to have destroyed five ballistic missile storage tunnels, four missile launchers and a missile depot.

Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki Al-Maliki said the operation was conducted in response to what he described as repeated attacks by the Houthi movement using ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to target civilians and civilian infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and Yemen.

According to Al-Maliki, the operation also targeted Houthi fortifications, personnel concentrations and military equipment along front lines inside Yemen. He said the strikes focused on disrupting supply routes connecting areas under Houthi control.

The spokesperson said the coalition would continue carrying out what he described as deterrent military operations to protect Saudi territory, its citizens and residents, as well as civilians inside Yemen.

Al-Maliki also asserted that the operation complied with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.

The operation comes amid a sharp escalation in the conflict in October 2026, with the Houthis intensifying cross-border missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia as fighting in Yemen has expanded. On Oct. 25, the Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a ballistic missile and drones targeting Riyadh, a cruise missile aimed at the southern city of Khamis Mushait, and 10 additional ballistic missiles targeting southern Saudi Arabia. Saudi authorities reported that falling debris from intercepted missiles injured two people and damaged residential buildings and vehicles.
