Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi movement said its forces targeted Saudi military gatherings at Al-Nasr Camp and a naval military base in Aden, accusing Saudi officers of preparing attacks against Yemen.
In a statement by military spokesperson Yahya Saree, the group said the preparations were being overseen by Saudi officers, led by Brig. Gen. Badr Salah Al-Harbi.
The Houthis alleged that the forces were being assembled to attack the Yemeni people and the group’s armed forces.
They did not provide details on the weapons used, the extent of the damage or any casualties.
The claim comes amid an escalation in fighting between the Houthis and forces aligned with Yemen’s internationally recognized government, which is backed by Saudi Arabia.
The Houthis have also claimed attacks on Saudi-linked military positions in Aden in recent days.
