  • 'Israeli' forces occupied village rooftops with snipers following Wednesday evening artillery shelling.
  • Syrian Foreign Ministry condemned the killing as a grave violation of international and humanitarian law.
  • Damascus accused 'Israel' of violating Syrian sovereignty and the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated raids and destruction.

A man with special needs was killed by 'Israeli' forces on Thursday in southern Syria, according to the official Syrian news agency SANA, in an action condemned by Damascus amidst an intensified pace of 'Israeli' operations inside Syrian territory.

"A civilian with a disability was killed today, Thursday, by bullets from the Israeli occupation forces during their incursion into the village of Jamla" in the western countryside of Daraa, SANA reported.

The agency detailed that 'Israeli' forces deployed in one of the town's neighborhoods and positioned snipers on the roofs of residential buildings alongside troop movements in the area, which had previously been subjected to artillery shelling on Wednesday evening.

In a subsequent statement, the Syrian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the crime, stressing that "the targeting of civilians constitutes a grave violation of the rules of international law and international humanitarian law."

The ministry further stated that "the continuation of incursions and attacks against Syrian citizens constitutes a violation of the country's sovereignty and a threat to the security and stability of the region."

Syria accuses 'Israel' of violating the 1974 Disengagement Agreement through repeated incursions by its forces into the south of the country, raiding civilian homes, detaining individuals, and carrying out artillery bombardment, land bulldozing, and tree clearing.
