‘Israel’ will not participate in Jordan’s Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX), a military source told Roya News English, after reports online claimed that Elbit Systems, an ‘Israeli’ defense contractor, will be participating in the exhibition.
SOFEX, held every two years, is an international exhibition focused on equipment and technologies for special operations forces, and is set to be held later this month in the coastal city of Aqaba.
“These claims are baseless and resurface with each edition of the exhibition in an attempt to sow confusion and undermine Jordan’s reputation,” the military source said.
The source said that the countries participating in this year’s exhibition are: Jordan, Germany, France, Egypt,Turkey, USA, United Kingdom, China, Czech Republic, Slovenia, Slovakia, Norway, Switzerland, Indonesia, Australia, South Korea, Bulgaria, UAE, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Estonia, Spain, Canada, Argentina, Belgium, Netherlands, Romania, South Africa, Philippines, Cyprus, Thailand, Lebanon, Russia, New Zealand and Pakistan.
The exhibition brings together defense manufacturers from around the world to explore the latest solutions and technologies, as well as opportunities for cooperation in special operations and national security.
