  • Saudi-led coalition spokesperson Turki al-Maliki says Houthi attacks on King Khalid International Airport between October 7 and 11 caused 17 deaths and 333 injuries.
  • The coalition says it destroyed 127 Houthi storage facilities in mountainous areas, along with multiple launch platforms.

The Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognized government said Thursday that Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh between October 7 and 11 killed 17 people and injured 333.

Coalition spokesperson Major General Turki al-Maliki described the attacks as a threat to regional security and called on the Houthis to immediately halt operations targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.

Al-Maliki said coalition forces had destroyed 127 Houthi storage facilities in mountainous areas, as well as numerous launch platforms.

He also accused the Houthis of attempting to target dozens of airports, oil facilities and ports across Saudi Arabia.

According to al-Maliki, the attack on King Khalid International Airport involved 10 drones, missiles and other projectiles.

Earlier Thursday, al-Maliki said coalition forces had intercepted and destroyed a cruise missile in the Medina region.

However, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree denied that the group had carried out any operation targeting Saudi territory that day.

On Wednesday evening, Saree announced that the Houthis had targeted King Khalid International Airport with a ballistic missile but provided no further details about the outcome.

The coalition also reported intercepting and destroying a ballistic missile launched toward Riyadh on Wednesday, following an earlier announcement that a cruise missile had been intercepted over Al-Kharj province.

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defense said the threat to Riyadh and Al-Kharj had passed after warning alerts were issued.

On Tuesday, the coalition reported intercepting and destroying six drones and six missiles launched toward Saudi Arabia’s Eastern and Southern regions, as well as Riyadh and Dhahran.
