  • IRGC Navy said it targeted a third non-compliant oil tanker Monday morning in the Strait of Hormuz, causing an onboard fire.
  • Iranian authorities claimed the vessel turned off its AIS tracker and ignored warnings.
  • The IRGC issued a stern warning promising firm action against any commercial vessels cooperating with the US military.

The Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed on Monday morning that it targeted a third "non-compliant" oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz, resulting in a fire onboard the vessel.

According to official statements released by the IRGC Navy, the targeted tanker had allegedly turned off its tracking and navigation systems and failed to respond to repeated warnings issued by Iranian naval forces prior to the strike.

The IRGC Navy issued a direct warning to international shipping lanes following the strike, claiming that it will decisively confront any commercial vessels or oil tankers found cooperating with the US military in the region.

The latest strike comes amid heightened security risks along critical Middle Eastern energy transit chokepoints and maritime corridors.
