Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) announced Sunday that King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh was targeted by a new attack Sunday afternoon.
The authorities said the attack resulted in injuries, without providing any more details.
The statement did not specify who was behind the attack, but it comes amid a surge in aerial attacks by the Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen.

“Damage assessments and safety inspections of airport facilities are underway in coordination with relevant authorities,” the statement by GACA added.
This follows a missile strike on the same airport the previous day that killed 12 people—including four Saudi citizens and nationals from Bangladesh, the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan—and wounded 309 others, some critically.
Operations at the airport, one of the kingdom’s busiest, remained suspended after the Saturday attack, with hundreds of flights canceled.
The Saudi-led coalition fighting Yemen’s Houthis blamed the group for the recent strikes, describing them as attacks on civilian targets.
The airport has faced multiple assaults this week amid an escalation in Houthi attacks on Saudi facilities.
