  • Syria has strongly condemned the Houthi attack on Riyadh’s international airport, calling it a violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty.
  • Damascus said Saudi Arabia’s security is closely linked to Syria’s security and the stability of the wider Middle East.

Syria’s Foreign Ministry has strongly condemned the Houthi attack on Riyadh’s international airport, describing it as a violation of Saudi Arabia’s sovereignty and a threat to regional security.

In a statement, the ministry said the attack threatened Saudi Arabia’s stability, the safety of civilians, civilian infrastructure and civil aviation.

The ministry said it viewed the incident as “a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a direct threat to its security and stability, as well as to the safety of civilians, civilian infrastructure and civil aviation.”

The ministry stressed that Saudi Arabia’s security was directly linked to Syria’s own security and that of the wider region.

“The security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of Syria’s own security and that of the region as a whole,” the statement said.

The condemnation comes amid heightened regional tensions following the reported attack on Riyadh’s airport and the Houthis’ warning declaring Saudi airspace a military operations zone.

The Syrian statement did not provide further details about the attack or announce any additional measures.
