  • Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council Vice President Abdullah al-Alimi Bawazir has urged regional and international powers to take concrete action against the Houthis following the reported targeting of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.
  • Al-Alimi said condemnations must lead to accountability and deterrence, adding that the military campaign known as “Dawn of Yemen” aims to restore state authority and establish peace.

Abdullah al-Alimi Bawazir, vice president of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, has called on regional and international powers to move beyond condemning Houthi attacks and take concrete measures to ensure accountability.

In a post on X, al-Alimi said repeated condemnations of attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure had failed to produce the firm measures needed to deter further incidents.

“It is no longer acceptable for regional and international condemnations of the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure to remain mere verbal stances, without being translated into firm measures that achieve accountability and deterrence,” he said.

Al-Alimi described the reported targeting of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh by the Houthis as a serious crime, urging the international community to adopt what he called a decisive response.

He said the incident required practical measures to prevent impunity rather than further statements of condemnation.

The Yemeni official also expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia’s leadership and people, praising the kingdom’s role in regional security and the protection of international navigation.

He reaffirmed support for the Yemeni government and its efforts to restore state authority across the country.

Al-Alimi said the military campaign known as “Dawn of Yemen” was continuing with the stated objectives of restoring government authority and establishing peace.

The campaign follows renewed military operations by forces aligned with Yemen’s internationally recognized government against Houthi positions.

The latest remarks reflect growing calls from Yemen’s government for stronger regional and international measures against the Houthis amid heightened tensions following the reported incident at Riyadh airport.
