  • Iran says 156 people, including 120 children, were killed in the attack on a school in Minab on the first day of the US-‘Israeli’ war against Iran.
  • Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi says evidence has been collected and an indictment issued, calling for those responsible to face legal accountability.

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi has called for those responsible for the deadly attack on a school in Minab to be held accountable through legal proceedings and international forums.

The attack took place on the first day of the US-‘Israeli’ war against Iran and killed 156 people, including 120 children, according to Iranian authorities.

Gharibabadi said Iranian officials had gathered documentation of the incident and were pursuing legal action against those responsible.

“Excellent documentation of this crime has been collected and sent to Tehran, and an indictment has been issued. Some foreign countries have filed lawsuits regarding Minab’s crime,” he was quoted as saying by Iran’s Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Gharibabadi said the United States had not accepted responsibility for the attack, despite what he described as published reports and documents indicating US involvement.

“The US regime has not yet accepted responsibility for this crime, while published reports and documents indicate US responsibility for the attack,” he said.

The allegations come amid continuing demands for an investigation into the circumstances of the strike and accountability for the deaths of children and other civilians.

Gharibabadi said those responsible must face legal consequences in international forums, indicating that Tehran intends to pursue accountability beyond domestic proceedings.

He did not identify the foreign countries that had reportedly filed lawsuits or provide further details about the indictment, including the individuals or entities named.

The circumstances of the attack and the question of responsibility remain central to the calls for legal accountability.
