Iranian Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei hailed the country’s Law Enforcement Command, known as FARAJA, saying it continued carrying out its duties despite attacks during the US-‘Israeli’ war on Iran.
In a message marking Iran’s Police Week, Khamenei described the United States and ‘Israel’ as a “criminal American-Zionist enemy” and said their efforts to target FARAJA personnel had highlighted the importance of the force.
He said the attacks targeted “various ranks of FARAJA, from the highest levels down to its most junior personnel,” but did not cause its personnel to retreat from their missions.
“Even in the streets and vehicles, they continued to carry out the same roles and responsibilities that they had performed at their stations and bases,” Khamenei said in the message.
When the war began on February 28, when the United States and ‘Israel’ launched coordinated strikes against targets across Iran.
The two countries said their operations targeted Iran’s military capabilities, nuclear program, missile systems and other security infrastructure.
An investigation published in March said at least 75 Iranian internal security sites, including police stations and FARAJA facilities, were damaged or destroyed during the opening phase of the war.
Khamenei said the attacks represented an unprecedented assault on Iran’s “order and security,” while praising FARAJA personnel for maintaining their operations.
The message was issued as the United States and Iran continued discussions aimed at ending the months-long war.
US President Donald Trump said Thursday that Washington would not resume military strikes against Iran before the November 3 midterm elections, citing what he described as “productive” discussions between the two sides.
