Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi spoke with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud following the latest Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia, according to a Jordanian Foreign Ministry readout.

During the call, Safadi "affirmed Jordan’s absolute solidarity with Saudi Arabia in confronting the Houthi aggressions" and expressed Amman’s "absolute support for all measures it takes to protect its security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens."

Safadi also reaffirmed Jordan’s support for the internationally recognized Yemeni government, with the two ministers discussing efforts to "end the dangerous escalation" in the region.

The call came after overnight Houthi attacks targeted airports in Jizan and Najran in southern Saudi Arabia, with casualties and damage reported.

The Houthis also claimed a separate attack targeting Abha International Airport in Asir province, saying a ballistic missile strike disrupted air traffic. Saudi authorities had not immediately confirmed the claim.

The latest attacks come amid renewed escalation in Yemen and heightened tensions between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia.

Amman has repeatedly called for de-escalation and a political solution to the conflict in Yemen while emphasizing support for the country’s sovereignty and internationally recognized institutions.
