‘Israel’ preparing for potential strike on Iran without US involvement: report

‘Israel’s’ military is actively developing options for further strikes against Iran, including the possibility of acting independently of the United States, even as it maintains tight intelligence and operational coordination with Washington, according to a report published Monday by “Israel Hayom”.
Sources in the ‘Israeli’ military cited by the Hebrew outlet stress that the two militaries remain in “extremely close intelligence and operational coordination,” with US officers stationed in ‘Israel’ and ‘Israeli’ officers in the United States, marked by continuous staff exchanges.
At the same time, Tel Aviv is preparing fully independent contingency plans for subsequent operations against Tehran if necessary, adds the report.
Central to ‘Israeli’ planning is Iran’s nuclear program, which still holds dozens of kilograms of highly enriched fissile material.
Tehran continues to regard this stockpile, along with threats to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, as its primary remaining strategic leverage despite diplomatic assurances.
‘Israeli’ forces are preparing both proactive strike options and defensive postures in case Tehran initiates hostilities to break its economic isolation.
Officials note that while unilateral action by ‘Israel’ or the United States before the November US midterm elections appears unlikely, “Iranian actions do not always align with Washington’s political schedule.”
The Iranian front remains closely tied to US political dynamics. President Donald Trump cannot tolerate spikes in global oil prices ahead of the midterms, leading Washington to stabilize the situation through intensified economic pressure and sanctions that have significantly deteriorated living conditions inside Iran.
Earlier this year, ‘Israeli’ Defense Minister Israel Katz directed the military to prepare for a “blue-and-white” (independent ‘Israeli’) operation against Iran, warning that any Iranian missile fire on ‘Israeli’ territory would trigger a forceful response.
“If Iran fires missiles at Israel, Israel will strike Iran with force,” Katz said at the time.
“There is no equation we will accept in which Iran fires at Israel.”
