  • Armed police tackled him as he climbed a 2.4 metre fence at the west London embassy in April 2025.
  • He was refused asylum after twice crossing the Channel in small boats, in August 2021 and April 2025.
  • The sentence was adjusted to 18 years and 207 days once time on remand was deducted.

A Kuwait-born failed asylum seeker who tried to break into ‘Israel's’ embassy in London with two knives has been jailed for life with a minimum term of 20 years on Monday, according to the BBC.

Abdullah Albadri, 34, was convicted by a jury in May of preparing terrorist acts and possessing two knives, the New Arab reported. The sentence was adjusted to 18 years and 207 days after time already served on remand was deducted.

Armed police tackled Albadri as he climbed a 2.4 metre (8 feet) fence at the embassy in west London in April 2025. Brit Brief reported that he wore a keffiyeh wrapped around his head and sunglasses, and that the court heard he wanted to "exact revenge" for the killing of children in Gaza. He arrived outside the embassy just before 6 pm and made a salute-like gesture before climbing the fence, according to Headtopics.

Police video shown to jurors captured him asking officers: "I wanna make a crime inside there, why are you stopping me?"

The jury heard that Albadri was refused asylum after twice crossing the Channel in small boats, in August 2021 and April 2025. He had claimed he was jailed and mistreated in Kuwait for campaigning for human rights.
