Three women working at a preschool in central ‘Israel’ were arrested Monday on suspicion of violently abusing toddlers, according to ‘Israeli’ media.
Police said the workers were filmed on several occasions reportedly picking up toddlers forcefully, slamming them to the ground, pulling them by the ears and throwing objects at them.
The investigation was launched after an 11-month-old boy was taken to Meir Medical Center in Kfar Saba with a bruised ear, police said.
The suspects, residents of Ra’anana in their 30s and 50s, were expected to appear in court Monday as police seek an extension of their detention.
The arrests come amid a history of reported abuse cases involving young children at preschools and daycare centers in 'Israel'.
In 2024, a Jerusalem daycare worker was indicted on 12 counts of allegedly assaulting toddlers, while three kindergarten workers in Tel Aviv were also arrested that year on suspicion of abusing children in their care.
In 2022, two former Holon kindergarten workers were convicted of physically abusing 26 toddlers, according to 'Israeli' media.
