A boycott-focused app, named "No Thanks," developed by a Palestinian software engineer has attracted millions of users worldwide, allowing shoppers to check products before making purchasing decisions.
Created by Ahmed Bashbash, "No Thanks" lets users scan a product's barcode to see whether it appears in its boycott database. Users can also search for products by entering serial numbers, according to the app's Google Play listing.
Bashbash is a Palestinian software engineer from Gaza, who has lost family members in the ‘Israeli’ assault on Gaza.
The app was launched in November 2023 and gained wider attention through social media as calls for consumer boycotts of companies linked to 'Israel' spread internationally.
Google Play currently lists the app at more than 5 million Android downloads.
