More than 80 percent of buildings in the Gaza Strip have been damaged during the genocidal war waged by ‘Israel’ since October 7, 2023, according to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS).
The bureau said the latest satellite-based assessment by the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT) identified around 201,290 damaged buildings between October 7, 2023, and June 16, 2026.
According to the PCBS, the figure represents about 82 percent of all buildings in the Gaza Strip.
Of the damaged structures, 134,422 were completely destroyed, while 13,848 sustained severe damage. The assessment also recorded damage to 328,627 housing units.
The figures were released by the PCBS in a statement marking World Habitat Day and Arab Housing Day, highlighting the scale of destruction to housing and civilian infrastructure across Gaza.
The destruction has also affected Palestinian refugee camps in the occupied West Bank.
The PCBS said 680 structures in Jenin Refugee Camp had been damaged as of February 2026, accounting for approximately 53 percent of all structures there.
In Nur Shams Refugee Camp, 434 structures were damaged, representing 55 percent of the camp's total structures. In Tulkarm Refugee Camp, 407 structures were damaged, or about 37 percent of the total.
