  • Government-affiliated media reported airstrikes on Houthi positions in Al-Nahdain and Jabal Attan, as reinforcements arrived in Taiz.

Yemen’s internationally recognized government has confirmed attacks on what it described as “legitimate vital military targets” in the Houthi-held capital, Sanaa.

Army spokesman Colonel Majid al-Nuzaili said in a statement posted on X that the Yemeni Armed Forces “possess the capabilities to conduct strategic attacks against the Houthis.”

Several loud explosions were heard across Sanaa earlier, while Houthi-affiliated media reported that the capital had come under airstrikes.

Government-affiliated media said warplanes targeted Houthi positions in the Al-Nahdain and Jabal Attan areas of Sanaa. The reports did not provide details on casualties or the extent of damage.

Separately, government-affiliated media reported that additional military reinforcements had arrived in Taiz Governorate as fighting with Houthi forces escalated.

The developments come amid renewed tensions between Yemen’s internationally recognized government and the Houthis, who control Sanaa and large parts of northern and western Yemen.
