The ‘Israeli’ military claimed it has terminated the reserve service of a reservist filmed confronting Palestinians while pointing a rifle in a West Bank village.
On Sunday, the soldier was filmed in the village of Beit Ummar, near Hebron, confronting several young Palestinians.
Footage circulated widely on social media showed him standing next to a civilian vehicle, partially dressed in the military’s fatigues, and pointing a rifle at the group.

In a statement to Hebrew media, the IDF said troops were dispatched to the outskirts of Beit Ummar in the Etzion Brigade area “following footage and a report of a civilian confronting several Palestinians inside the village, following an earlier altercation between them.”
The military said that “the civilian is a reservist who entered the village without the proper authority or authorization and left upon the arrival of the troops. His reserve service was terminated and the incident was investigated.”
The reservist served in a Hagmar regional defense unit, composed of West Bank settlers who perform local security duties as part of the military’s alleged “territorial defense framework”.
