A commander of Iran’s Basij paramilitary force was killed in an armed attack in Rask County, in the southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, Iranian media reported Tuesday.
Tasnim news agency identified the victim as Abdolraouf Eshaqi, commander of the Basij Resistance District in Parud, Rask County. The agency described the incident as a "terrorist attack."
Iranian reports said Eshaqi was shot by unidentified armed men. Security forces were pursuing those responsible and monitoring their movements, according to Tasnim.

The incident comes days after two members of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were reportedly killed in a separate armed attack near Zahedan, the provincial capital.
