Day 191 | US CENTCOM, Iran's IRGC exchange missile strikes over vessels

Tensions between Washington and Tehran reached new heights as Iran’s Foreign Ministry officially condemned US military strikes against three Iranian oil tankers, labeling the action a "war crime."

The Iranian military issued follow-up threats warning that its forces would escalate attacks against US warships operating in regional waters if American forces continue enforcing a naval blockade and harassing Iranian commercial shipping.

US Central Command (CENTCOM) defended its actions, stating that American forces targeted the three Iranian oil carriers in direct response to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launching ballistic missiles toward two US warships patrolling the region.

While Tehran claimed its missiles damaged an American aircraft carrier and destroyer, CENTCOM maintained that US vessels evaded the incoming fire without sustaining damage.
