Asked whether the media’s attitude toward her would have differed if her husband had leaned left politically, Sara Netanyahu replied without hesitation: “Absolutely.”
She then recounted a conversation from an earlier era when ‘Israel’ had only two television channels. “A senior executive at one of the channels told us: ‘If you weren’t the leader of this camp and were our leader instead, you would be our king.’ Then they looked at me and said: ‘And you, just as you are, you wouldn’t need to change anything, you would be our queen. You’re just married to the wrong man.’”
