  • Trump claimed Iran has lost key military capabilities, including its Navy and Air Force.
  • He accused Iranian authorities of killing more than 100,000 people during protests and called for Iranian leaders to face war-crimes charges.

US President Donald Trump said on Monday that Iran is "officially a Failed Nation" and "DEAD," launching a series of claims regarding the state's military capacities and domestic stability.

Writing on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump claimed that Iran has "no Navy, no Air Force, no currency," and alleged that Tehran is failing to pay its military or security forces while suffering 300 percent inflation.

He further asserted that Iranian authorities have killed "over 100,000 people" during internal protests and demanded that Iranian leadership "be tried for war crimes against humanity".
