Appearing before prosecutors in Cairo, the driver of the refrigerated truck, Mahmoud Mohamed Shehata, provided details on how the robbery unfolded.
Shehata testified that he was transporting approximately four tons of frozen poultry from the Radwa Food Industries factory when surrounding motorists began frantically flashing their lights and gesturing toward the back of his vehicle.
"I pulled over immediately after other drivers signaled to me on the desert road, only to discover that seven packages weighing 15 kilograms each—totaling 105 kilograms of cargo—had been stolen from the back," Shehata stated in official testimony.

The incident was filmed by occupants of a trailing vehicle whose owner’s son later spoke to reporters. He noted that his father was adhering strictly to speed limits monitored by onboard GPS tracking systems, making it difficult for the truck driver to notice blind-spot movements behind the massive rig.
According to police reports, the perpetrators posed a severe danger to public safety on the desert corridor. When another motorist attempted to block the thieves and force them to stop, the suspects brandished weapons to clear their escape route.
Security forces located and apprehended all three suspects within Cairo Governorate, confiscating the tools used in the heist and referring the case to judicial prosecutors.
