Palestinian-Jordanian mountaineer Mostafa Salameh raised a Palestinian flag kite from the summit of Mount Elbrus, Europe's highest peak, in solidarity with children in the Gaza Strip.
The gesture follows statements by 'Israeli' Minister Israel Katz who banned Palestinian children in Gaza from flying kites and threatened to target areas where they are launched.
Posting from the summit on Instagram, Salameh dedicated the climb to displaced Palestinian youth:
"Today, I am honored to carry the 'Kite of Dreams' on behalf of children deprived of their childhood, and for dreams that bombs try to extinguish”, Salameh wrote, “We will take your kite to the peaks of the world, to the top of every continent, so the sky can say what the world failed to hear: children have dreams."

Salameh previously climbed Mount Everest, where he similarly raised a Palestinian kite inscribed with messages and drawings from children in Gaza.
As one of the few mountaineers globally to complete the Explorers Grand Slam, he frequently uses his high-altitude expeditions to mobilize humanitarian support and international awareness for Palestine.
