  • 'Israeli' Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says the evacuation of a UNRWA compound in Kafr Aqab, Jerusalem, began following his directive and legislation passed by the Knesset.
  • UNRWA rejects ‘Israeli’ accusations that its employees were involved in terrorism or collaborated with Hamas.

‘Israeli’ Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said forces began evacuating a UNRWA compound in Kafr Aqab, Jerusalem, following his directive and legislation targeting the UN agency.

“In accordance with my directive and following the law we passed, the evacuation of the UNRWA compound in Kafr Aqab, Jerusalem, began today,” Netanyahu said in a post on X.

The move comes as ‘Israel’ continues its campaign against UNRWA, the UN agency responsible for providing assistance to Palestinian refugees.

‘Israeli’ officials have accused UNRWA of promoting anti-‘Israel’ sentiment and of collaborating with Hamas following the October 7, 2023 attacks. UNRWA has denied the allegations.

In a separate statement, Netanyahu said ‘Israel’ “will not allow an organization whose employees were involved in terrorism and in the October 7 massacre to operate on its territory.”

He added that ‘Israel’ would take action against the agency “using every means at its disposal.”

UNRWA has repeatedly said that allegations against individual employees should be investigated on a case-by-case basis and that the agency remains committed to UN standards of neutrality.
