Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called for administrative reform, merit-based management, and opening public service opportunities to youth and civil servants during his address at the 21st Shahid Rajai Festival on Wednesday, Iranian state media reported.
Speaking to senior state officials and civil servants at Tehran's Islamic Summit Conference Hall, Pezeshkian stated that advancing the country requires empowering competent individuals across all administrative levels.
Pezeshkian identified systemic empowerment as the primary driver for national development, urging state institutions to assign leadership roles based on merit rather than bureaucratic privilege.
"Empowering capable individuals is essential for the country's progress," Pezeshkian said.
“We can create opportunities for young people, employees, workers, and the nation's elite. Opportunities must be made available to all, and management roles should be assigned based on competence and conviction,” Pezeshkian stated.
Pezeshkian’s call to streamline administrative efficiency comes as his administration continues to manage the domestic impact of what he previously characterized as a "full-scale economic, military, and security war" involving the US and 'Israel'.
