US Secretary of Energy Chris Wright said on Saturday, that the United States has achieved record-breaking oil and natural gas production levels, cementing its status as the world's leading energy producer.

In a statement posted on the social media platform X, Wright credited American energy sector workers for driving crude oil and natural gas output to unprecedented milestones.

"American oil and gas workers have driven production to an all-time high, making the US the world's largest producer of oil and natural gas," Wright stated.

Credit goes to Trump agenda

Wright emphasized that President Donald Trump's administration intends to build on the production gains to expand domestic energy capacity and deliver cost reductions to consumers.

"Thanks to @POTUS' agenda, we're building on that success—unleashing American energy, strengthening our economy, and lowering costs," Wright added in his post.

The announcement highlights the administration's broader push to prioritize fossil fuel extraction and streamline federal energy permits.

The surge in output comes against the backdrop of fluctuating global energy benchmarks and diplomatic initiatives aimed at maintaining commercial shipping flows across major international maritime routes.
