Disabled Palestinian elder assaulted by 'Israeli' settler

Sheikh Saeed Al-Amour, an elderly and disabled Palestinian resident of the hamlet of Al-Rakeez in Masafer Yatta, was assaulted by an 'Israeli' settler on his land, according to local residents and human rights groups.

The incident took place as local families face recurring incursions and intimidation by settlers attempting to establish outposts and seize agricultural land in the South Hebron Hills.

History of violence against family

Sheikh Saeed lost his leg roughly a year and a half ago following an April 2025 confrontation on his property.

During that incident, an armed settler guard opened fire at close range, inflicting severe trauma that required an emergency amputation at a Hebron hospital.

Human rights organizations have repeatedly documented settler attacks targeting Al-Rakeez and surrounding herding communities, where residents face frequent physical assaults, property destruction, and restriction of access to their ancestral olive groves.
