  • Arkia resumes direct Tel Aviv-Marrakech flights.
  • Airline restores Morocco route after three-year halt.
  • Arkia schedules two weekly A320 flights.

'Israeli' airline Arkia resumed direct commercial flights to Morocco on Wednesday following a three-year suspension caused by military escalation and conflict in Gaza Strip, according to 'Israeli' Channel 12.

The carrier officially launched the direct Tel Aviv–Marrakech service with its first flight departing Ben Gurion International Airport at 13:10 (10:10 GMT).

Channel 12 reported, Arkia stated that the restoration of air services represents major news for 'Israeli' travelers seeking to return to Marrakech.

The route will operate twice weekly utilizing Airbus A320 aircraft.

According to Channel 12, approximately 700,000 'Israeli' citizens are of Moroccan origin.

Direct, scheduled flights between the two countries originally began in July 2021, eight months after diplomatic relations were re-established under normalization agreements brokered by the administration of US President Donald Trump.

As part of that agreement, Washington recognized Moroccan sovereignty over Western Sahara, making Morocco the fourth Arab state to establish formal ties with 'Israel' alongside the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Sudan.

Channel 12 emphasized that the resumption of the Tel Aviv–Marrakech line comes as officials closely monitor regional civil aviation, with the renewed flights expected to restore travel demand within the broader diplomatic framework of the Abraham Accords.
