Iran says Hormuz talks with Oman made progress

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said talks with Oman over the past three weeks had made progress and were conducted in a positive atmosphere.

Baghaei said Iran and Oman had reached an agreement on a maritime navigation map despite what he described as obstacles imposed by Washington.

He said the progress was the result of collective work involving all relevant institutions in Iran’s diplomatic, defense and environmental sectors.

Regarding a joint statement expected from Iran and Oman, Baghaei said consultations between the two sides were still ongoing.

He added that the statement would be announced once it is finalized.
