Footage released from the Greek island of Agkistri during the August 9th Nationwide Day of Action Against the Genocide in Palestine shows demonstrators being met by 'Israelis', according to activist Melanie Steliou.

Demonstrator details escalation
A participant in the Agkistri march recounted how the demonstration began positively before escalating when protesters encountered the group.
“In Agkistri everything started off nicely, energetically, people were interested, even cars and motorbikes were following us. Until we ran into a large group of 'Israelis', most of whom were soldiers on leave,” one of the protesters in Greece said yesterday.
The demonstrator described the physical aggression at the scene, noting that video footage did not capture the full extent of the incident.
“Indescribable scenes… The video doesn’t capture their disgusting behaviour— lots of shoving, cursing, elbowing, attempts to grab our phones. The port police and police officers were in shock, thankfully polite to us…” the protester added.
Steliou cited the event as part of an ongoing pattern, recalling a similar incident that occurred last year during a protest in Limassol, Cyprus, when 'Israelis' threw chairs and spat at demonstrators in town.
