Hamas on Sunday reaffirmed its full commitment to the roadmap agreed upon with mediators and representatives of the "Board of Peace" in Cairo 10 days ago.

In comments to Reuters, the movement said its position remains unchanged regarding the understandings reached to move to the second phase, stressing that implementing the agreement requires a similar commitment from the ‘Israeli’ side and an end to any obstruction of the political process.

The statement came in response to remarks by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who announced his rejection of the 15-point document issued by the US-led "Board of Peace" and demanded the complete disarmament of Hamas before any ‘Israeli’ military withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.

The understandings brokered by mediators in Cairo reportedly call for a gradual ‘Israeli’ withdrawal and a halt to military operations alongside arrangements to restrict and store weapons.

Hamas has called on the US administration to pressure Tel Aviv to comply with the understandings and prevent the agreement from collapsing.
