‘Israel’s’ foreign ministry has warned citizens who are traveling to Greece to be cautious ahead of pro-Palestine protests across the country.

Officials warned citizens to stay clear of protest areas and to avoid sharing real-time locations or information online. Citizens were also told to hide Jewish or ‘Israeli’ symbols during this time.

The ministry released a statement writing, “Given the expected scale of the protests and the possibility of large gatherings and disturbances, the Foreign Ministry recommends that Israeli citizens in Greece exercise increased vigilance, stay away from protest sites and large gatherings, and avoid any friction or confrontation with demonstrators.”

Upcoming protests

Pro-Palestine organizations including March to Gaza Greece, BDS Greece and Palestinian Community Greece have all organized protests across the country. Several of these spots mark hotspots for ‘Israeli’ tourists.

The protests come after increasing tensions in Gaza, settlement expansion in the West Bank, and the detention of Palestinian prisoners.

The groups also accuse Greece of complicity in genocide, highlighting the defense industry funding, cooperation with US and ‘Israeli’ plans, and the use of Greek islands and vacation destinations by ‘Israeli’ soldiers on leave.
