Residents of Kibbutz Zikim near the northern Gaza border were instructed to remain in protected rooms after a cut was discovered in the community’s perimeter security fence.

The alert was triggered after the kibbutz’s security chief detected the breach and notified military authorities.

'Israeli' military forces, alongside local security teams, launched searches across the area and reviewed surveillance footage to determine whether anyone had entered the community from the Gaza Strip.

Residents remained inside shelters while security personnel searched the kibbutz and surrounding area.

Following the investigation, the 'Israeli' military said no suspects were found and surveillance footage showed no evidence of anyone crossing into 'Israeli' territory.

Authorities subsequently issued an all-clear, declaring the incident over and saying there was no active threat to residents.

The military said it was not immediately clear when or how the fence was cut.
