Palestinian journalist Younis Tirawi shared an image on X saying it is the last known photo of two elderly men from Beit Lahia, Gaza, used as human shields by ‘Israeli’ forces before being killed in November 2024.
In a new post, Tirawi identified the men as Nadi and Ali Marouf.
He described the photo as captured hours prior to their deaths and stated they were “used as human baits & then executed.”

The post quotes Tirawi’s earlier October 2025 report alleging that troops from the 92nd Battalion of the Kfir Brigade abducted the men from Beit Lahia, held them as human shields for days, and killed them shortly after releasing them near Tawwam Junction on November 9, 2024.
Broader investigations by outlets have documented multiple allegations and soldier testimonies of ‘Israeli’ forces forcing Palestinian civilians—including elderly people—to clear buildings, tunnels, or areas as human shields during operations in Gaza, a practice prohibited under international humanitarian law.
