A man was arrested after attempting to slash an ‘Israeli’ kitchen tent with a knife at the Edmonton Heritage Festival in Alberta, Canada, on Monday.
Social media footage that began circulating on Wednesday shows the shadow of an individual trying to cut the tent, followed by security officers detaining the man in the main festival area while chants of “All the Zionists are racists” could be heard in the background.

A volunteer at the front alerted security as the man lunged and struck the tent with the blade.
A second volunteer pulled him away before security guards subdued him near a protective perimeter fence.
Edmonton police are investigating the incident, though charges had not been announced yet.
The confrontation occurred amid a protest organized by local anti-Zionist groups, including Independent Jewish Voices Edmonton (IJVE) and Edmonton Jews Against Zionism (EJAZ), in coordination with the MacEwan chapter of the Palestinian Student Alliance.
These groups had previously called on festival organizers to exclude the “Israel Pavilion”.
Pro-Palestinian demonstrators held signs denouncing Zionism and demanding organizers “Free Edmonton from Zionist Pavilion Israel – shut it down!” while being kept at a distance by security.
Counter-protesters, including Iranian supporters of the Jewish community, responded by waving ‘Israeli’ flags and chanting “Bibi, Bibi thank you!”
