Speaking on Iranian State TV during a direct address to the nation marking the second anniversary of his presidential inauguration.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that maintaining contact with the Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei is currently very difficult, while emphasizing that his ongoing presence remains a major source of strength for the country.

Pezeshkian rejected public depictions and statements attributed to the Mojtaba Khamenei, characterizing them as inconsistent with reality.

Pezeshkian stated that he has repeatedly highlighted the Mojtaba’s true character in both public forums and private meetings, describing him as an exceptional figure in terms of ethics, logic, and humility.

Warning against internal division

During the televised conversation, President Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of transparent communication, noting that direct discussions foster greater mutual understanding:

"I have said this many times both publicly and in private meetings. The personality I saw in him was truly exceptional in terms of ethics, logic, and humility. For this reason, I believe that the more frankly we can share our issues and grievances with him, the better we can reach an understanding," Pezeshkian said.

The Iranian President described the Leader as a logical and patient individual who received his frank feedback with kindness and an appropriate demeanor:

"He is a completely logical and very patient person. Whatever I had in my heart, I stated frankly so he would be aware of the issues, and he responded to us with kindness, logic, and a very appropriate manner. For this reason, statements that are sometimes raised on his behalf do not match the personality I have seen. The image that some depict of him differs from reality."

Iran's President Pezeshkian further noted that the current domestic environment has enabled malicious actors to exploit gaps and misrepresent official positions:

"Unfortunately, the current situation has to some extent created space for certain ill-intentioned individuals to define issues differently and present a different image of him."

The Iranian President alerted the public that certain individuals had actively sought to create division inside the country using the pretext of the Supreme Leader's message regarding the memorandum of understanding.
