'Israel' builds permanent bases deep in occupied Lebanon: Reports

• 'Israeli' army controls 230 square miles, established 7 bases extending 12 kilometers into Lebanese territory
• 'Israeli' forces told to build "as if we would stay there for 50 years."
• Agreement calls for ‘Israeli’ withdrawal tied to Hezbollah disarmament

‘Israel’ continues to settle itself in southern Lebanon with recent evidence of extensive military construction. The military has been told to expect to stay for at least one year and was ordered to build "as if we would stay there for 50 years."

Scale of occupation 

The ‘Israeli forces have taken over an area of 600 square kilometers in Lebanon extending as far as 12 kilometers from ‘Israel.’ Throughout this zone, seven bases were built, connected by kilometers of roads. Haaretz revealed satellite imagery which shows extensive building and reported excavators, road rollers and armoured bulldozers seen across the area. 

A senior ‘Israeli’ forces officer spoke to Haaretz, stating that the military was told to expect staying up to a year in Lebanon. 

While Defense Minister Israel Katz stated that he told ‘Israeli’ forces "to build outposts in south Lebanon as needed, as if we would stay there for 50 years." Previously flaunting the destruction of 15,000-20,000 homes. 

He also recalled instructing the ‘Israeli’ forces "to build outposts in south Lebanon as needed, as if we would stay there for 50 years."

In June, negotiations in Washington led to ‘Israel’ and Lebanon signing a US brokered deal which involves the disarmament of Hezbollah, a gradual withdrawal of ‘Israeli’ forces in south Lebanon and the deployment of the Lebanese army across the region. 

Prime Minister of ‘Israel' Benjamin Netanyahu said: "until Hezbollah is disarmed and until no further threat to Israel is posed from Lebanon." In response, Hezbollah rejected the agreement and stated they will not disarm.
