'Israeli' military says entry into Area A is illegal

A group of 'Israeli' settlers entered the outskirts of Nablus in the northern West Bank on Friday, leading to localized clashes and reports of cemetery vandalism, according to the 'Israeli' military.

The 'Israeli' military stated that local Palestinians in the area hurled rocks at the 'Israeli' settlers upon their arrival, prompting one civilian to fire warning shots into the air.

Official reports indicated that no injuries resulted from the initial exchange.

In addition to the confrontation, the 'Israeli' military confirmed receiving reports that several of the 'Israeli' settlers vandalized a cemetery during their presence in the area.

'Israeli' soldiers who had been deployed in the sector prior to the settlers' arrival intervened to disperse the gathering and clear the individuals from the site.

The military reported that all 'Israeli' settlers were subsequently evacuated from the Nablus sector.

Following the evacuation, Palestinian residents hurled rocks at the 'Israeli' soldiers remaining in the area.

The military stated that troops responded by initiating suspect apprehension protocols, which included firing toward a primary instigator.

The 'Israeli' military reiterated that entry by 'Israeli' settlers into Area A -which is under full Palestinian civil and security control- is illegal, highly dangerous, and strictly prohibited under 'Israeli' law.
