UK Supreme Court to hear appeal over Palestine Action ‘terrorism’ ban

The UK Supreme Court will hear an appeal challenging the government's decision to proscribe Palestine Action as a terrorist organization, marking the latest stage in a legal battle over the group's ban.

Huda Ammori, co-founder of Palestine Action and the claimant in the case, was granted permission to appeal on Wednesday, according to the Supreme Court's website.

"We will continue to fight this proscription all the way to the Supreme Court and, if necessary, to the European Court of Human Rights," Ammori said in a statement.

The case follows a June ruling by the Court of Appeal, which found the government's decision to ban the group was lawful, overturning a High Court judgment issued in February that concluded the ban unlawfully restricted freedom of expression.

The UK government proscribed Palestine Action after activists allegedly entered RAF Brize Norton in June 2025 and damaged two military aircraft.

Since the ban took effect, around 3,000 people have been arrested for allegedly expressing support for Palestine Action, according to the group's supporters.

Dozens more were arrested on Thursday outside Westminster Magistrates' Court during demonstrations related to the ban.
